“I know am one lucky girl to be able to attend the first ever show on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter World Tour, 4/28/25 at Sofi Stadium in LA.
I went with my three friends Lex, Chanel & Kelsie, from our ‘Oui Oui Pari with Bey’ group chat - created when we traveled to France for the Renaissance tour stop two years ago. It was the first show that Blue Ivy popped out at! We were all rooting for her like proud aunties, screaming through Stade de France, “GET IT BLUE!!!” The air was thick with smoke from Parisian cigarettes and the energy was electric.
We all tried to stay off social media in the two weeks before, but three out of us four failed. Not Lex. I’ll never forget the look on her face as she took everything in for the first time. Like someone suddenly born into color.
The stars aligned and she was able to snag us tickets for the first ever night of the CC tour... and this time around we were all completely full of awe. An underated, rare experience. We were so so gagged. It was nearly impossible to process all that we were absorbing: the raw messages of true American history - the visual signifiers of the continuation from the first tour into a true ACT II - HER VOICE?? how longggg the show was - 44 songs!? I kept thinking it was about to be over - think again! We all kept saying we couldn’t take it, that we felt like we were about to die - “hell of a way to go,” though.
I left thinking... Beyoncé is EXACTLY who she says she is.
As if I wasn’t feeling lucky enough I was back again by the end of the week at the third show on 5/4/25 with my sister. We were in the Ho-Down, right in the mix. It was an absolute BLAST. I read the web site guidelines, rented a point&shoot camera and snapped while dancing away & having the tiiiime of our lives.
Getting to see Beyoncé live... getting to WITNESS her excellence in person is such a privilege. She is the living example of what it looks like to lock in for life, and to show the world what legacy, love, tenacity, audacity, effort, talent, bravery, sensuality, consistency, and authentically aligned intentional ACTION look and feel like in the most beautifully crafted & curated sensory experience.
KUDOS TO ALL INVOLVED.
To me, the luckiest people in the world are the people who are blessed to get to be a part of this every night. A testament to their energetic output, commitment to excellence, and maybe their luck. Maybe their audacity. I left thinking I could do this every day of my life.
Afterward, I found out the started enforcing a no camera policy- none allowed, only phones. As much as I want to share these on my IG, I’d rather keep them here as a memory, to give me life! I just keep coming back to them to be reminded of the vibrancy, the aliveness I feel whenever I leave a Beyoncé show or take in any one of her projects in full.
In person, the safe and joyfully communal space her shows create radiate. It’s that divine energy that radiates through every facet of it all. Amen to that.”
