surviving, with Molly

DEC 2020

My friend Molly was home in NY after moving to Kenya.

It was close to her birthday.

I was in the throws of indecision on if I should move out of my apartment, my first on my own, a Harlem studio with tall ceilings and a murphy bed. I sat on the brazilian cherry wood floors as she told me about her new love for Joe Dispenza, and how much positive thought was helping with her state of mind and physical health.

I suggested we go to Chinatown so we could get our auras photographed. You put your hands into a metal mold as the camera snaps. I went once before. Red was the only color, radiating. My memory on the exact colors that popped up this time is blurry… I think some purple emerged.

Afterwards I went to a free STD clinic for a checkup — the woman helping me said my rapids came back negative. She said since COVID started she was seeing a LOT more positives, to be careful out here.

We survived.
